Is Psychodynamic Training For Me?
The range of different counselling approaches and trainings can be bewildering for anyone new to the world of counselling. For those interested to find out more about the psychodynamic model, the Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling offers an one day introduction to Psychodynamic Counselling for participants to discover what psychodynamic counselling and counselling training involves and whether they are suitable students.
Basic theoretical material including the MCHPC six stage model for psychodynamic counselling is introduced. The different stages of the counselling relationship are explored through experiential exercises which are supported by relevant theory.
This one day stimulating 'taster' offers a supportive environment in which participations are encouraged to practice listening skills, learn how to communicate more effectively and begin to consider the unconscious content of their own and other's communication.
Participants are given the opportunity to ask questions about other counselling models and appropriate Courses. Potential students are invited to consider which model might best suit them and help is offered in where to find further training.
The day aims to be creative, challenging, intensive and fun.
