Course Director

Tina Simmonds MA Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (BPC registered). She has a Certificate in Counselling, a Diploma in Psychotherapy and an MA in the Psychology of Therapy and Counselling. She is a Trainer and Supervisor working with individuals and groups, consults to counselling training programmes in the community and maintains a private practice.

Diploma Course Tutors

Maaike Engelen Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist (ACP registered). She is training at the Institute of Psychoanalysis. She holds a Msc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development. She works in private practice and in an educational setting. She has a background in philosophy and the arts.

Joan Fogel is a Group-analytic Psychotherapist (UKCP registered) working with groups and individuals in the private practice, in education and with the NHS.

Bernard Shapley Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPC Registered) works in education and private practice. He is also a Trainer and Supervisor.

Helena Michaelson MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP accredited) works in private practice and with an Employee Assistance Provider. She has an MA in Creative and Life Writing and has a background in literature and education.

Angela Marsh is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPC, PPA and Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists) and a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (ACP). She works in private practice and as a trainer/supervisor in organisations and the NHS. She has also run groups in training organisations and within the NHS.

Chris Robinson MA, MBACP (Snr Accred) is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and supervisor working in private practice, the voluntary sector and educational settings. He is director of Waterloo Community Counselling, a community-based service in South East London. He has a background in community mental health before training as a psychotherapist.

Lucy Draper is a group-analytic psychotherapist (BPC registered), trained at the Tavistock & Portman and at WPF Therapy. She works with student and client groups at Tavistock Relationships.

Lynsey Hotchkies is a Group-Analytic Psychotherapist (UKCP registered) working with groups and individuals in private practice, training organisations and with the NHS.  She has a Diploma in Counselling, Postgraduate Diploma in Group Analytic Psychotherapy and an MA in Intercultural and Group Therapy.

Certificate Course Tutor

Eliza Golberg is a BPC registered psychodynamic psychotherapist working in private practice and the voluntary sector. Eliza holds a BA in Art Therapy and an MA in Autism and works as a trainer in organisations and for the NHS.

External Moderator

Dr Joe Hinds is a senior lecturer at the University of Greenwich on the MSc Therapeutic Counselling programme and is in private practice as both a psychotherapist and supervisor.

Clinical Manager

Sharon Heinoch has a background in educational psychology and then trained as a psychodynamic therapist. In addition to managing the counselling service, she maintains a private practice and is a group facilitator on an accredited psychodynamic counselling training programme.

Administrator

Agnieszka Majewska is a skilled charity Administrator with over 5 years experience working for non profit organisations. She oversees all administration involved with the training programme and counselling service at the MHCPC. She graduated from University of Economics in Krakow with a Masters degree. 

Board of Management

Alex Moss Psychodynamic Counsellor (BPC & BACP Accredited) working in private practice and within educational settings. He has a background in youth work and therapy within the corporate sector. He has been chair to the Board of Management for 10 years and has a long established working relationship with the MHCPC.

Marie Calvo MBACP is an experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor working privately. Her background is in clinical service management across the third sector. She held the position of the MHCPC Clinical Manager for 9 years and now sits on the Board as our Development Manager.

Emmanuel Benedetti Financial Controller for the MHCPC provides accountancy services to serveral charities and counselling organisations across London. He has been involved with the charity sector since 2013 and prior to this worked in the printing industry for 20 years as Finance Director.

Dr Kenneth Bledin Clinical Psychologist (HCPC), Group Analyst (UKCP) and Psychotherapeutic Supervisor (UKCP). He has worked with groups and individuals both privately and within the NHS. He also has an established background in training.

She has an MA in Creative and Life Writing and has a background in literature and education. Helena sits on the Training & Policy Committee as the Ethics Representative.

Chair to the Board of Trustees

Ron Finlay is a communications and engagement consultant specialising in the health and charity sectors. His professional background and over 15 years’ experience in trustee roles give him considerable expertise in corporate governance. Ron is a strong advocate of talking therapies to support people experiencing anxiety and other mental health conditions.

Trustees

Gary Hommel is a solicitor and has been a partner of a City law firm for over 20 years.  He has carried out a wide range of leadership and governance type roles. He is passionate about the benefits of therapy and its availability to as many people as possible.

Jonny Grunwald has worked in HR – mostly within financial services – for over 10 years, specialising in remuneration, people strategy and culture. He currently works as a senior manager within a global (re)insurance company whilst studying for an MBA. He is passionate about physical and mental wellbeing, especially widening access to psychodynamic therapy. 

Deborah Lewis is a former newspaper journalist and experienced communications professional. She has worked in strategic communications and engagement and latterly leadership teams for 15 years, managing teams and projects in organisational change as well as to develop external profile. She is an advocate of the critical importance of widening access to mental health support for all in recognition of the lasting benefits talking therapies can provide.

Saral Anand qualified as a GP in 2005 and has been practicing in the Westminster area since 2008. She has an additional role as Named GP Lead for Child Safeguarding in the Central London borough. Her areas of interest lie in diversity and inclusion as well as mental health and well-being. She is keen to promote equity in access to support for all clients and reduce stigma around mental health problems. 

Katie Bragoli is a finance professional having worked across a number of banks in the last 30 years.  Katie specialises in Financial Risk Management assisting large corporate companies across a variety of sectors.  Katie is passionate about fundraising, mental wellbeing and helping as many others as possible to reach their full potential.
