Our Team

Course Director

Tina Simmonds MA Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (UKCP registered). She has a Certificate in Counselling, a Diploma in Psychotherapy and an MA in the Psychology of Therapy and Counselling. She is a Trainer and Supervisor working with individuals and groups, consults to counselling training programmes in the community and maintains a private practice.

Diploma Course Tutors

Orpa Daniels psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPC Registered) working in private practice and in the National Health Service with couples and individuals. She also works as a supervisor and trainer with several counselling organisations.

Maaike Engelen Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist (ACP registered). She is training at the Institute of Psychoanalysis. She holds a Msc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development. She works in private practice and in an educational setting. She has a background in philosophy and the arts.

Joan Fogel is a Group-analytic Psychotherapist (UKCP registered) working in the NHS, in education and private practice with groups and individuals.

Bernard Shapley Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (BPC Registered) works in education and private practice. He is also a Trainer and Supervisor.

Helena Michaelson MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP accredited) works in private practice and with an Employee Assistance Provider. She has an MA in Creative and Life Writing and has a background in literature and education.

Patrick Gannon MSc is a Psychotherapist and Group Analyst. He is a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP- Sen Accred). Working in the NHS and private practice, Patrick works with individuals, couples and groups. He is also a Trainer and Supervisor with other counselling and psychotherapy organisations.

Chris Robinson MA, MBACP (Snr Accred) is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and supervisor working in private practice, the voluntary sector and educational settings. He is director of Waterloo Community Counselling, a community-based service in South East London. He has a background in community mental health before training as a psychotherapist.

Maddy Loat (DClinPsy, AFBPsS, Mem.Inst.G.A.) is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and group analyst (HCPC & UKCP registered) working in the NHS, in the third sector and within various psychotherapy trainings. She is also a supervisor, trainer, part-time university lecturer and author who maintains a private practice in London.

Certificate Course Tutor

Angie Shannon Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP accredited and BPC registered) works in private practice. As well as Chair to the Board of Trustees for a medium mental health charity, she works as facilitator and organisational development and change consultant within the corporate sector.

External Moderator

Quentin Stimpson has worked as a psychotherapist in private practice (and various other settings) for the past 24 years. He is a Senior Lecturer in Counselling at the University of Greenwich on the BA and MSc counselling courses and is active as both a research supervisor and a researcher in the therapy arena. He edited a book for Routledge, “Clinical Counselling in Voluntary and Community Settings”, which was published in 2003.

Clinical Manager

Sharon Heinoch has a background in educational psychology and then trained as a psychodynamic therapist. In addition to managing the counselling service, she maintains a private practice and is a group facilitator on an accredited psychodynamic counselling training programme.

Administrator

Agnieszka Majewska is a skilled charity Administrator with over 5 years experience working for non profit organisations. She oversees all administration involved with the training programme and counselling service at the MHCPC. She graduated from University of Economics in Krakow with a Masters degree. 

Board of Management

Alex Moss Psychodynamic Counsellor (BACP & BPC Accredited) working in private practice and within educational settings. He has a background in youth work and therapy within the corporate sector. He has been chair to the Board of Management for 7 years and has a long established working relationship with the MHCPC.

Marie Calvo MBACP is and experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor working privately. Her background is in clinical service management across the third sector. She held the position of the MHCPC Clinical Manager for 9 years and now sits on the Board as our Development Manager.

Emmanuel Benedetti Financial Controller for the MHCPC provides accountancy services to serveral charities and counselling organisations across London. He has been involved with the charity sector since 2013 and prior to this worked in the printing industry for 20 years as Finance Director.

Dr Kenneth Bledin Clinical Psychologist (HCPC), Group Analyst (UKCP) and Psychotherapeutic Supervisor (UKCP). He has worked with groups and individuals both privately and within the NHS. He also has an established background in training.

Chair to the Board of Trustees

Fiyaz Mughal OBE has over 18 years’ experience in the community and voluntary sectors in positions that have included social policy lobbying, project management, conflict resolution, and working with leading organizations as the Chief Operating Officer. He founded Faith Matters, Tell MAMA, and the annual No2H8 Crime Awards. These platforms help to tackle extremism, build communicy cohesion, and provide extensive education, civic engagement and leadership development at local, national and international levels. He is passionate about mental health and is currently training as a Counsellor.
