Self Referral Form
The Counselling Referral Service of the MHCPC offers access to time-limited or long-term, Psychodynamic Counselling.
An assessment is initially offered to understand your request for therapy and assist us in determining whether we are the right agency to offer you counselling. The assessment will take place face to face and will last for up to 90minutes; a senior assessor will invite you to talk about yourself and your reasons for seeking counselling at this time of your life.
This initial consultation will enable the assessor to determine whether we are the most suitable agency to offer you therapy. Please note that it might not always be possible or suitable to offer you counselling at the CRS; in this case we will recommend other agencies that might be a better match for you. Each referral is carefully considered and based on the specific needs of the individual and the current resources of the service.
The cost of the assessment is £50 (standard fee); a low-cost rate of £20 is also available for those who are unemployed, receiving benefits, retired or full-time students.
